Not yet Uhuru for Ikorodu Utd—Okpodu

Ikorodu United head coach, Sam Okpodu has charged his wards to go full blast to score goals in all their matches on the top flight calendar.
The newcomers at the weekend recorded their heaviest win in the NPFL matchday 14 clash against Heartland at the Agege Township Stadium in Lagos winning 3-1 after nine matches without a win.
Okpodu said his side must strive to maintain the winning mentality as the side redirect their focus on the matchday 15 clash at former champions, Kano Pillars.
“I said before the 3-1 win against Heartland that it’s high time we start scoring goals as well as winning matches and as I predicted we were able to achieve the mark against an experienced Owerri side.
“I insist we must continue on that note in our remaining matches before the half term break if we are to climb out from the base we find ourselves at the moment.
“We must continue to score goals as well as win matches and it means nobody must remove his legs on the throttle.
“We need to remain focus and work harder than ever before to ensure we sustain the current momentum.
“Our focus has shifted to the weekend clash at former Nigerian champions, Kano Pillars who stunned Sunshine Stars in Akure.
“We will head to Kano with confidence to challenge for the whole three points at stake in the encounter,” said the former Warri Wolves coach to supersport.com.
The Oga Boys are at the bottom of the 20-team Nigerian top flight on poorly nine points from possible 42 in the 14-week old league.
