Nobody will control me when I become governor – ADP guber candidate
The Plateau State governorship candidate for the Action Democratic Party (ADP), Brig. General John Temlong (rtd), has said he will not allow anyone to either control or mislead him should he emerge as governor in 2019.
Temlong said as a retired Army officer, it is impossible for him to be pushed around, saying that the practice of cabal who seeks to mislead the number one citizen for their selfish interest will not hold sway with him.
He stated this yesterday in Jos the Plateau state capital during a press briefing to herald his official declaration to contest the plump job.
“If you know me very well, considering my back ground as a military officer, you will agree with me that no one can push me around. I have come to do the right thing and I am well prepared for the task.
“My motivation to contest for the governorship office of Plateau state is to restore security and sustainable peace, provide good governance and foster inclusive and equitable development in the all the constituent parts of the state.
“My vision is to build a Plateau that is peaceful and secured; socially inclusive and cohesive; politically stable and progressive and economically vibrant, resilient and equitable”.
The Plateau ADP governorship aspirant noted that as a General who has led men in battle, alongside his accumulated post military experiences, said the insecurity situation faced by the state is most embarrassing.
“I was inundated with visits and calls by respectable men and women of good will from all over Plateau expressing concerns about the grave security situation on the Plateau which has led to incessant killings and displacement of communities from their ancestral land.” he said.
