Meanwhile, the Honorable Member representing Bokkos/Mangu Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. Solomon Maren, has said that the murder of the Plateau Traditional ruler, was because of his stance in opposing the grazing reserve bill.

In a statement he made available to our correspondent, Hon. Maren stated that, the monarch was killed by those he had spent most of his time struggling to protect.

His words, “from what I have gathered, the Chief was killed because of his stance on the issue of grazing reserves.

“Throughout his reign, he remained a very principled man and would tell you exactly what he feels about an issue. That was just his offence,” Maren, who is from the same town with the slain Chief, said.

He regretted that such killings had become common in the Chiefdom, and recalled that the Village Head of Makayi and the District Head of Manguna were killed in the same circumstances and by unknown gunmen in January.
It would be recalled that the Bokkos Traditional Council ruler, Saf Ron Kulere,  Lazarus Agai was murdered in his home village, Sha, on Monday, 18th July, 2016, by unknown gunmen, while returning from his farm alongside four others.
