Nigeria’s inflation drops by 1.86% -NBS

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Thursday disclosed that Nigeria’s inflation has dropped by 1.86 per cent on a month-on-month basis.

According to the Bureau, the nation’s inflation dropped to 23.7 per cent in April, from 24.23 per cent in March 2025.

This was contained in NBS’s April Consumer Price Index and inflation data released yesterday.

The figure on food inflation released by the bureau showed stagnancy as the rate in April stood at 21.26 per cent.

“In April 2025, the headline inflation rate eased to 23.71 per cent relative to the March 2025 headline inflation rate of 24.23 per cent.

“The MoM headline inflation rate in April 2025 was 1.86 per cent. The food inflation rate was 21.26 per cent (YoY),” NBS wrote on its X account on Thursday.

The Daily Times recalled that the nation’s inflation rose to 24.23 per cent in March for the first time since the rebasing of the Consumer Price Index in January 2025.
