Nigeria’s finance minister to meet NNPC over irregularities in revenue

Kemi Adeosun, Nigeria’s finance minister called on Tuesday for an emergency meeting with the head of state-owned Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation over revenue payments, the minister’s office said.

Oluyinka Akintunde, Adesosun’s senior adviser on media and publicity, who made this known, said the decision to meet with the country-owned oil company is as a result of the discrepancies in the payments of the N37.76 billion revenue declared by the nation oil’s agency.

Adeosun said she will be meeting with the NNPC GMD over discrepancies in payment into the Federation Account.

The minister, who is also the Chairman of FAAC, said she called for an emergency meeting with Baru and other key management staff over revenue payment into the Federation Account.

The nation’s finance minister said that the Accountant General of the Federation, Commissioners of Finance and Accountant-Generals of the 36 States would also be present at the meeting.

Similarly, she said that other representatives of the NNPC, Federal Inland Revenue Service, Nigeria Customs Service, Department of Petroleum Resources would also be at the meeting.
