Nigerians Are Betting On When Buhari Will Return

A popular Nigerian online betting site has opened a cash-making opportunity for Nigerians to place a bet on when the ailing President will return
The stakes are quite high and no one in the presidency knows the exact day Baba will return.
A cash-making opportunity for Nigerians to place a bet on when President Muhammadu Buhari will return to Nigeria, has been launched.
NaijaBet opened the slots on Wednesday.
Buhari had traveled to London for medical treatment for a strange ailment on May 7.
Options given by the site include: ‘bet that Buhari will return ‘first week in August’, second week in August’ or ‘third week in August’.
There is also the option for custom bets for customers.
Acting President Yemi Osinbajo had stated that the President will return very soon after visiting him in London.
“Deadlines aren’t very good things but as I said, he is recuperating fast. We are expecting him very shortly. Much sooner than you will expect,” Osinbajo said.
Some governors who also visited the President said he is fast recovering and is quite eager to return.
Recall that Cable News Network (CNN) had recently poked Nigeria over Buhari’s absence for 86 days.
The television medium was satirical over the situation in the country in the latest edition of its “The Global Public Square (GPS)”, a foreign affairs show anchored by Fareed Zakaria.
The programme in its Quiz and Trivia segment asked, “The head of state from which country has not set foot in his homeland in over two months?”
The options were given as Saudi Arabia, Cuba, Nigeria and Syria.
It went on to tick the option ‘Nigeria’.
