Niger reassures corps members of adequate security

Niger state government has reassured the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members posted to the state of adequate security throughout their service year and beyond.

Governor Abubakar Sani -Bello, gave the assurance at the swearing in ceremony of the batch B, stream 1 of the 2019 NYSC orientation at Paiko, the headquarters of Paikoro Local Government Area of the state.

Speaking through the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Ahmed Ibrahim Matane, the governor reiterated his administration’s commitment towards ensuring the sustenance and promotion of core values of the NYSC scheme for national growth and development.

The governor further explained that the NYSC scheme had fostered unity and contributed immensely to the growth of the state, especially the provision of manpower to schools and hospitals among several others.

He said one of the reasons behind the lasting peace and stability enjoyed in the state is the government’s ability to accommodate everybody, irrespective of cultural, social, political or religious background.

Earlier in her remarks, the NYSC state Coordinator, Mrs. Funmilayo Ajayi said a total of 2, 037 corps members have been duly registered for the orientation course.

According to her, out of the figure 1, 086 were females while 951 of the corps members are males. She noted that the NYSC enjoys harmonious working relationship with the government and appealed to the state government to hasten the completion of the permanent orientation camp.

Mrs. Ajayi commended Gov. Sani -Bello for the support and assistance his adminstration has been rendering to the corps and urged him not to relent.
