NFF: Keshi Signs for Super Eagles Top Job

The protracted delay in engaging a coach for the senior national team, Super Eagles was on Tuesday swept off the way as the NFF finally signed Stephen Okechukwu Keshi for the plum job on a two-year renewable contract.

Speaking at the sign-on occasion, General Secretary of the Federation, Mohammed Sanusi said the media has been awash with speculations on whether Keshi would retain his position as the Chief Coach of the Super Eagles or not.

He noted that the NFF waited to do it at a time that it will certainly restore confidence, not only among the numerous football-loving Nigerians, but also in the coaching crew.

In a related development, Chairman of the NFF Technical Committee, Chief Felix Anyansi-Agwu said the signing of Keshi will definitely take the country’s football to a deserved height among the committee of world football.

He declared that the technical committee recommended the coach to the NFF after thorough screening and has the confidence that he has what it takes to return the country on the path of soccer glory.

Anyansi-Agwu stressed further that the NFF will certainly create enabling environment for the coach to excel by giving him all the support that will make his second coming a success.

In his acceptance speech, Keshi said he was here to work for the good of the country’s football and will always work in harmony with his employer.

He assured that the home-based players will definitely have their place in the team but noted that it must be on merit.
