NDLEA Re-arrest Woman For Drugs In Gombe

 

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Gombe State has re-arrested a 29-year-old woman, Yabi Ibrahim, with 5.3grammes of cocaine and heroine, and five other drug traffickers.

The Agency’s state commandant, Mr Aliyu Adole, Ibrahim of Karofin Bolari quarters, Gombe, was re-arrested after she was released on bail by the Federal High Court, Gombe.

“This woman was released on bail and she came out started selling cocaine again, her mother is still in prison awaiting trial.

“The Federal High Court, Gombe does not have a sitting judge and this is affecting us, because all our cases are on withholding charges which is not too comfortable.

“All our cases are waiting trials in various courts, we have like 32 awaiting trial suspects in prison,” he said.

He called on the authority concern to facilitate appointment of the resident Judge to be able to continue with such cases in the state.

Adole said that with present situation, the command was facing s lot of challenges in discharging its duties.

The commandant said that the other five suspects were arrested within a week with 8.9 kilogrammes of cannabis and psychotropic substances.

He said that only the High Court has jurisdiction to handle their matters.
