NBA: Toronto raptors near Eastern conference semifinals

Last year’s NBA Playoffs winners, Toronto Raptors are halfway to the semifinals of the Eastern Conference Playoffs after defeating Brooklyn Nets 104-99 on Wednesday night.

Fred Van Vleet had 24 points and 10 assists to move to within a touching distance of a battle with the Boston Celtics who defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 128-101 to book a spot in the semis of the Eastern Conference.

The Nets won the first three quarters before going to sleep in the fourth where Raptors came out smoking.

Both teams will face again on Friday night where the defending champions hope to settle their place in the last four of the conference.

In other basketball results, the Dallas Mavericks defeated the LA Clippers 127-114 while Denver Nuggets and Utah Jazz saw Utah winning 124-105.

Raptors are leading the series 2-0 over Brooklyn with Celtics are also leading 2-0 over Philadelphia.

It’s a series tie between LA Clippers and Dallas Mavericks and Denver Nuggets and Utah Jazz.
