National Karate Championship holds in Asaba

The National Open Karate Championship will commence in Asaba, Delta State, from April 11 to 16, 2016 with over 250 athletes comprising of male and female karatakers expected to feature by the Karate Federation of Nigeria (KFN).
President of KFN, Chief Donatus Agu – Ejidike told Extra Time that the programme will begin with Coaches and Referees courses from April 11 – 13, while the championship will hold from April 14 – 16 at the Asaba Township Stadium.
Agu – Ejidike advised states and para-military bodies in the country to make their athletes available for tournament which will be used to select athletes that will represent Nigeria at the forthcoming African Karate Championship.
Meanwhile, Secretary General of KFN, Anthony Idaye, has advised states that were yet to pay for their annual affiliation fees to do so, on or before the commencement of the championship since that is one of the conditions for participation. States are to carter for the accommodation and transportation of their athletes to and fro Asaba, Delta State.
