NANS Annual Conference recognizes exceptional contributions to student welfare and education
The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) holds an annual conference that allows Nigerian students to come together and address issues pertinent to their education, welfare, and overall development. The conference brings together student leaders, activists, and stakeholders from various higher institutions nationwide.
The annual NANS conference covers various topics, including educational policies, funding for higher institutions, student welfare, social justice, and youth empowerment. It provides a platform for students to voice their concerns, propose solutions, and engage with policymakers, government officials, and other relevant stakeholders.
NANS also uses the annual conference to recognise and appreciate outstanding individuals and organisations who have significantly contributed to advancing education and student welfare in Nigeria. Awards are presented to deserving recipients, acknowledging their achievements and inspiring others to strive for excellence.
The conference catalyses positive change in the Nigerian education system. It provides a platform for students to collectively address issues such as inadequate infrastructure, insufficient funding, curriculum development, and the overall quality of education. Through constructive dialogue and advocacy, NANS aims to influence policies and bring about meaningful reforms that will benefit Nigerian students.
Aisha Ochuwa Tella, the matron of NANS and a respected entrepreneur and philanthropist, has strongly supported students’ rights and is actively involved in the organisation’s activities. Her contributions to NANS have been recognised through an award presented by the association, acknowledging her dedication and support
