Motoring journalists’ annual training workshop holds in June

In collaboration with industry stakeholders, Nigerian Auto Journalists Association (NAJA) has concluded plans to hold the second edition of an annual training workshop for its members across the country.

The 2-day training edition is scheduled to hold between June 8 and 9, 2017 to enhance the participating journalists’ garner more knowledge and depth of reporting the industry and also equip them with necessary intellectual tools with which to analyse critical issues as it affects the automobile and allied industries.

It would be recalled that the maiden edition of the training workshop held in Lagos last year titled Driving Skill For Life (DSFL) had Ford Motor Company of South Africa as the major with the sponsor with support from industry stakeholders in the country while Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi, Corps Marshal of the Federal Roads Safety Commission (FRSC).

According to Mike Ochonma, Vice President of the Association and Head, Organizing Committee the of 2017 NAJA Training/Workshop, stated that the rationale for instituting the annual training is to encourage capacity building and continuous learning among journalists to move them from the level of reporting to analysis and a career building platform for the journalists.
