Monarch solicits for special recognition of the traditional institution
President Muhammadu Buhari has been advised to urgently accord traditional healers across the country the respect due them and also involve them in the day-to-day activities of governance so as to move the nation forward.
Speaking in an interview with the press at the end of their 2017 national prayer for the nation, held at ita – iyalode round about, Totoro- Abeoukuta, Ogun state, the Oba of Isese, Oba Ifarotimi Agifagbola Balogun, said this has become necessary in view of the fact that all the tragedies that have been fallen the nation in recent times.
He also called on Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun state to recognize August 20th every year for ISESE DAY and also as public holiday just as is being done in other states such as Osun state.
His words: “Let everybody irrespective of their religion, go back to the first foundation of Orunmila as our fore-fathers used to do in the olden days to consult ifa oracle to seek for guidance for both present and future of the national.”
Oba Agifagbola further urged the three tiers of government to include the first religion, which is Orunmila, before, during any activity in their various domains.
He therefore called on Nigerians to continue to support the present administration in the quest for a better nation.
