Mohammad lauds Nestle Milo Basketball tourney

President of Nigeria School Sports Federation (NSSF), Malam Ibrahim Mohammad, has commended Nestle Milo for supporting basketball development from the grassroots through its annual Nestle Milo Secondary Schools Basketball Championships.

Speaking exclusively to Extra Time, Mohammad revealed that the Nestle Milo Secondary Schools Basketball Championship which is in its 19th edition has truly unearthed future basketball champions from schools which is worthy of commendation.

“Nestle Milo Secondary Schools Basketball Championship is a competition that other corporate bodies in the country must emulate because it has gone a long way in solidifying the development of the game in the country.

“I am not surprised today, that some of the products of the championship are already making waves in basketball internationally, while some are among the core members of our female national basketball team, D’Tigress, thus making Nigeria an envy for other basketball-playing nations in Africa and the world.

“I hope pray, this initiative can be sustained by Nestle Milo, so as to take the sport to next level it deserves,” he said.
Mohammad further thanked the company for setting the pace in establishing the first female basketball championship for schools in the country and added that the record-breaking 9000 participating schools in the 2017 edition of the competition is heartwarming.
