MLB: Ronald Acuña Jr. Returns to Braves

After nearly 12 months of rehabilitation and anticipation, Ronald Acuña Jr. will make his official return to the Atlanta Braves lineup Friday night in a high-stakes matchup against the San Diego Padres at Truist Park.

Acuña suffered a complete ACL tear in his right knee during a game in May 2024, halting what was shaping up to be another MVP-caliber season. Now fully cleared for action, the 27-year-old outfielder says he’s stronger, smarter, and more focused than ever.

“I’ve worked every single day to get back here,” Acuña told reporters in a pre-game press conference. “This is the game I love. I’m ready to give everything for my team again.”

The Braves, who struggled offensively in the absence of their star, are counting on Acuña to reignite their playoff push. His return could also bring a spark to the clubhouse, where his energy, speed, and bat had become synonymous with Atlanta’s recent success—including their 2021 World Series title.
