Vincenzo Montella’s charges may be on a positive run in the Italian top flight, but their recent success has not been built on hard running
The last three seasons have ended with the Rossoneri finishing eighth, 10th and seventh in the Italian top flight, with new boss Vincenzo Montella tasked with returning Milan to the Champions League this term.
The former Fiorentina coach has overseen an unbeaten run of five matches following a shaky start to the season, as Milan currently lie in sixth spot after seven games.
Their positive form of late has clearly not been built on hard running, though, with the Rossoneri having recording the lowest figures for kilometres covered and number of sprints per game in Serie A.
Milan fans will not mind a slower tempo if their side continue to pick up victories, but they are likely to have something to say about a relative lack of movement should results deteriorate.
