“Educating the mind without educating the heart, is no education at all,” so said Aristotle.
This was a major discuss as Sani Bello College graduated 98 students recently.
Speaking, the Vice Chairman of Sani Bello College, Alhaji Usman Sani Bello, advised the graduating students to be the best always, to do things differently and not to follow the norm as young entrepreneurs.
And while education continues to be the parcel of this country, the prime mover of Sani Bello Foundation which transformed to Sani Bello College, called on well-meaning Nigerians to support in making a change in people’s lives through vocational skills development for the youths not only in Kontagora but all over Nigeria, stressing that the need to give back to the society was part of the major reason Colonel Sani Bello (rtd) established the College.
He made this clarion call in Kontagora during the 8th graduation ceremony of 98 students trained in various skills and vocations by Sani Bello College which was chaired by the Head of Operation, Zenith Bank Kontagora, Mr. Ajibola Oduola.
“The only way people can actually patronise your products is perhaps if you do something out of the box. You don’t have to conform to what others are doing so that your products and services can stand out from the crowd”, he said.
Meanwhile, Director General of the College, Mr. Zakari Ikani, disclosed in an interview that over 1000 youths have benefited from the various vocational skills training programme organised by the Sani Bello College.
“We have trained over 1000 youths altogether in ICT, Hair and Beauty, Catering and Hospitality, Fashion Designing, Animal Production, GSM repairs and by the grace of God we are moving on with new courses coming up”, he said.
He, however, congratulated the graduating students and urged them to match forward with courage to succeed and that there is nothing impossible as long as they have God and these skills in their hands.
Mr. Ojewale Babatunde, a graduate of Computer Engineering and Networking, expressed gratitude to the management for the opportunity given to him and promised to set up his business in Computer Engineering and further proceed to acquire Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computer Engineering.
