Man,48, falls from NITEL pole, bleeds to death

While attempting to disconnect some cables from a pole belonging to the Nigerian Telecommunications Limited, 48-year-old man, Kabiru Salami, died.
Salami, who died on Monday, is a worker with a firm, Ismoy Multipurpose Company at Oke Baale in Osogbo, Osun State.
It was gathered that he had climbed the NITEL pole erected at Ojaja Street in Ile-Ife around 1:00pm.
After falling, he bled to death, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Folasade Odoro, said while confirming the incident.
Odoro explained that The deceased gasped for breath after he sustained severe injuries before he gave up the ghost.
According to her, the deceased was rushed to the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital immediately after falling.
At the hospital, she said that, the deceased was confirmed dead by a doctor on duty.
“At about 16:48hrs, one Oyawola Morufu of 48, Ibokun road, Osogbo, reported at a police division in Ile-Ife that at about 01pm, one Kabiru Salami, aged 48, working with Ismoy Multipurpose Company, Oke Baale, Osogbo fell down from NITEL pole at Ojaja Street in Ile Ife, when he wanted to disconnect NITEL cable wire,” she added.
