Man Arraigned for Cultism
A 31- year old man, Taiwo Adoti, has been arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrate Court in Lagos over membership of Black Axe confraternity.
The defendant was alleged to have committed the act on March 18, 2015 at NNPC, Ejigbo, Isolo, Lagos.
He was arraigned on a three count charge of being a member of Black Axe confraternity and unlawful possession of one locally made double barrel shot gun, without license issued by the police.
According to the prosecutor, Mr Samson Ekikere, the offence is punishable under section 328(d) of the criminal Laws of Lagos State.
However, when the charge was read to him before Magistrate (Mrs.) Y. O. Aje Afunwa, he pleaded not guilty.
The Magistrate therefore granted him bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties, as well as with a verifiable office and house address.
The Magistrate adjourned the matter till May 22, 2015.
