Man arraigned in court for man slaughter

A man, Rasheed Lasisi, was on Tuesday arraigned before a Lagos state High Court, presided over by Justice Akapo for man slaughter
The accused was alleged to have unlawfully slaughtered one Kazeem Akinjobi, on the 21st June, 2014, at around10:30p.m. at Kajola Street, Mushin, Lagos, thereby committing a crime contrary to Section 227 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State.
The prosecuting counsel urged the court for a trial date and the matter was adjourned till the 7th, 8th and 9th October, 2016 for trial.
In a related case, a man arrested by the police for stealing was arraigned before a Lagos State Magistrate Court, presided over by Magistrate Aje Afunwa.
The 32-year-old accused, identified as John Okejo, allegedly obtained N2, 000,000, property of one Kayode Ogundipe, under the pretence of supplying AGOD Diesel Oil.
The defence counsel however pleaded that the defendant be granted bail on very liberal terms.
The court granted the defendant a bail of N600, 000, with two suretees, who must submit verifiable documents of payment of tax and address in Lagos.
The matter has been adjourned till 23rd September 2016, for report of service of proof of evidence.
