Man, 38, in court over stolen bank cheques

A 38-year-old man, Oseni Abdulrahaman, on Thursday appeared before an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court Lagos, for allegedly stealing a bundle of Skye Bank cheques.

Abdulrahaman is facing trial on a charge of stealing before Magistrate Bola Olagbegi-Adelabu.

The accused, whose address was not stated, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The prosecutor, Cpl. Mary Ajiteru, said that the accused stole the bundle of cheques on Feb. 28 at 4.00p.m.

She said that the offence was committed at Anwarul- Islam Movement Society of Nigeria, on Ayangburen Road in Ikorodu.

Ajiteru said that the stolen property belonged to Aremo Adeniyi Ogunsanya.

According to her, the offence contravenes Section 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2011.

The magistrate granted the accused bail in the sum of N50, 000 with one surety, and adjourned till March 17 for mention. (NAN)
