Leah Sharibu: Nigerian Christians Commend OPM, Urge Christian Leaders To Emulate Him

Christians in Nigeria have commended the Omega Power Ministries also known as OPM and the General Overseer of the Ministry Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere for the solidarity he has shown to Miss Leah Sharibu as well as her family since her abduction in February this year.
Miss Sharibu was among the over hundred girls that were abducted at the Government Girls Technical College, Dapchi by members of the Boko Haram sect.
While almost all the other girls have been released and reunited with their families, the case of Miss Sharibu has been different. She was alleged to have been .kept back owing to her decision not to renounce her Christian.
At the news of her decision to stick to her Christian faith, many Christian leaders eulogized her but since her long incarceration, it seems like she has been forgotten by the Christian fold.
This is not however the case for the Omega Power Ministries OPM and Apostle ChibuzorChinyere who have continually shown solidarity for her in words and actions.
It has been widely reported of how the man of God who is based in Port Harcourt formally renamed his Ministries’ free restaurant after the abducted Miss Sharibu thereby drawing comments across the country.
“When the news first came up op how this man of God in faraway Port Harcourt promised to offer Miss Leah Sharibu scholarship and even offered to build an accommodation for her parents as well as raise money for her mother to start her own business, many of us in the faith were so elated.
He has followed up his promise by renaming his OPM Free Restaurant after her. What a proactive way to show solidarity to a little girl that seems to have been forgotten by the people”? Mr. Luke Ishaya a resident in Nasarawa state said while speaking to our correspondent.
Another respondent who spoke to our correspondent charged Christian leaders not to lose hope on the release of Miss. Leah Sharibu stressing that with the efforts of the likes of the Omega Power Ministries as well as other Christians who continue to remember her in their prayers, she will soon regain her freedom.
“I heard that a man of God in Port Harcourt has renamed his church restaurant after her. This is a good effort considering that as members come to eat and pray, they will also subconsciously pray for her release also.
Nigerian Pastors must learn from this man who despite all the tight schedules he has, also finds time to remember a little girl with such a massive faith” the respondent said.
Meanwhile the Sisters In Christ Organisation (SICO) a Christian organisation based in the Northern part of the country have called on Nigerians to pray for the General Overseer of the Omega Power Ministries OPM.
The group said they heard of the gesture of the man of God who God has been using to do wonders in the Southern part of the country and said they will continue to pray for such kind hearted men of God.
Sister HannatuChoji the Chairperson of the group made this known to our correspondent in Abuja stressing that his actions is worthy of emulation by all Christians not minding their denominations.
