Lawyer cautions Edo CP

Abraham Oviawe Legal Consults, solicitors to Marxist Kola Edokpayi, who is presently incarcerated in Benin on the orders of the Edo state Commissioner of Police, has written a strongly worded petition to the police boss demanding to retrieve his android phone.
The phone was said to have been “forcefully collected from him on the 16th day of May, 2017.”
Going further, Abraham Oviawe, Managing Partner of the legal outfit, said: “We are constrained to urgently request for the release of the Techno Android Phone belonging to our client forcefully collected from him on the 16th day of May, 2017 upon his arrest on your instruction.
“Our client further informed us and we verily believe that he demanded for the immediate release of the said phone to him when he was to be taken to court for arraignment on the 16th May, 2017 but was refused.”
Oviawe stressed that the phone “has been invaded, as our client passcode to the phone has obviously been hacked since his ‘whatsapp page’ and ‘Facebook’ account are been accessed till date.”
Oviawe described the development as a ‘grave violation’ of the activist’s right.
