LASG uses portal to recruit over 7,000 jobs

The Lagos state Commissioner of Science and Technology, Mr. Olufemi Odubiyi, on Monday said that the state’s job portal was used to recruit over 7,000 jobs for officers in the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC), artisan and other support staff.
He said while rendering account of the stewardship of his ministry at the 2017 ministerial press briefing held at Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre, the state secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja.
According to Mr. Odubiyi, the state’s job portal project provides an online platform for the registration of prospective job seekers, selection, recruitment and online testing. This system provides an online testing platform that permits the use of devices like computers and mobile devices without the need for a testing/pro metric center, he said.
Mr. Odubiyi stated further, Lagos state is the first state in the federation to provide a complete and online recruitment and testing platform. Adding that the portal has been user by different agencies.
Mr. Odubiyi, however said the Ministry of Science and Technology has been able to create a Vehicle Number Plate Verification Portal, Citizens Gate, Computerization of Youth Centre, Onikan and provision of internet services, and free public wi-fi at parks and gardens.
