Landlord, Tenant docked for raping 13-year-old girl

A Lagos landlord, Ishola Idris and his tenant Linus Okonkwo was yesterday docked before a Lagos Magistrates Court sitting in Ikeja for allegedly raping a 13 year-old girl.

The  51 year-old landlord was alleged to have deflowered  the girl sometime in January, while his tenant Linus followed  up by raping her in March.

The duo who were arraigned on a two count charge both resides at No. 30 Celestial Road Igando, Lagos.

The charges against the defendants reads: ” That you, Ishola Idris sometime in January 2017 at 30, Celestial Road, Igando Lagos in Lagos Magisterial District did unlawfully defiled one 13 years old girl child (name withheld) by having sexual intercourse with her.

” That you, Linux Okonkwo sometime in March 2017 at 30 Celestial Road, Igando Lagos in Lagos Magisterial District did unlawfully sexually assault one 13 years old by penetrating into her virginal with your penis.”

The prosecutor also informed the court that the alleged crime  is punishable under section 261 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

When the charge was read to the defendants, they pleaded not guilty to the allegation.

Chief Magistrate B.I Osunsanmmi granted them bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties.

The matter was thereafter adjourned till October 12, 2017 for trial.
