Lagos police, others move to end Apapa gridlock

To ease the suffering of motorists and commuters in the Apapa area of Lagos, the Lagos State Police Command in synergy with relevant transport agencies on Thursday concluded to launch Operation Restore Sanity on the axis.

This development which is aimed at checkmating gridlock in the area was disclosed at a meeting chaired by CP Imohimi Edagal with representatives from relevant agencies.

The CP, while briefing the press after the meeting described the Apapa gridlock as a national disaster which calls for concern.

Speaking, Edgal said, “The problem which gave rise to the sorry state of roads linking ports is not limited to mere blocking of roads or activities of tankfarms with no holding bays for trucks.
