Lagos police intercepts seven interstate buses en route Abuja, Ilorin, Benue

…Arrests 95 travellers

The police in Lagos, have intercepted seven commercial buses, fully loaded with 95 interstate travellers, for violating the lockdown order in the state.

Investigation revealed that the buses had loaded at a park at Ebute-Metta area of Lagos, en route Benue, Abuja and Ilorin

Information about their operation leaked to operatives at the Denton Police Division, who immediately swing into action, arresting the suspects.

According to the Lagos Police Spokesperson, Elksna Bala, who confirmed the arrest of the suspects, but a statement on Sunday: “ The Iuspecss were arrested on April 21, at 8p.m.

“ Acting on credible intelligence, operatives from Denton Police Station arrested 95 inter States travellers at Bhojson area, Ebute Metta in seven commercial buses with registration numbers LG 91 BGT, Lagos to Benue; BDA 690 XA, Lagos to Abuja; BGA 86 EA, Lagos to Abuja; LSD 459 XA, Lagos to Benue; LRN 105 YR, Lagos to Ilorin; LSD 81 XX, Lagos to Ilorin and BWR 975 PN, Lagos to Abuja.

“ The buses were impounded, the drivers and passengers were charged to Mobile Court and sentenced accordingly. In addition, 211 violators of lockdown order were arrested in different parts of the State and also charged to Court.”
