A man identified simply as Femi, has allegedly stabbed his wife to death and committed suicide at their Victory Park Estate home, Lekki in Lagos state.
The young couple, who left behind two children, were found dead by a relative and estate officials on Sunday, barely three weeks after moving into the house.
It was however, learnt that the couple have had a prolonged issue bothering on the paternity of their last child.
A source disclosed that Femi had accused his beautiful wife of infidelity and didn’t also hide his suspicions about the paternity of the child, which remained a bone of contention.
A resident of the estate, who spoke on the incident, claimed they last saw the couple with their children jogging in the estate on Saturday evening.
In a detailed explanation, the resident, who craved anonymity, said the kitchen knife allegedly used in the stabbing was found on the floor along with two bottles of sniper.
He said: “That Sunday afternoon, neighbours heard loud music coming from their house. We were disturbed as the estate was known to be a very peaceful area. We had to call the attention of estate officials to talk to the occupants of the house.
“When we got to the estate office, two of their staff followed us to go warn the man of the disturbance he was causing. We however, met with the wife’s sister who was downstairs with the couple’s children.
The sister immediately went upstairs so she can inform her sister and the husband about the complaint laid by the estate authorities.
“She knocked several times, but got no response. After waiting for so long, the sister and the estate officials decided to pull the door down. Surprisingly, the man and his wife were found dead.

“It was obvious the man had killed his wife. The woman’s legs and hands were bound and her mouth shut with a duct tape. The husband used a clipper to shave her hair and stabbed her multiple times with a knife. We called the police who came and took the corpse away. ”
Confirming the incident, the Lagos state Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, said that investigation was ongoing, as autopsy will be carried out on the corpses of the man and the wife, to determine the cause of death.

“She was suspected to have been stabbed; we recovered a knife there too. The man was found lying down with foam coming out of his mouth and two empty bottles of sniper were by his side. He is suspected to have killed himself and we are investigating.”
