Lagos lawmaker assures that Nigeria’s future is bright despite

The lawmaker representing Oshodi/Isolo Constituency 1 at the Lagos State House of Assembly and Acting Chairman, House Committee on Special Duties, Hon. Olusola Abdulhakeem Sokunle, has said that the future of Nigeria is bright

despite the current challenges facing the country, advising Nigerians to continue to have faith in the leadership of the country as there is no nation in the world that develops without passing through tough time.

Hon Sokunle, in his Christmas message signed by his Media Assistant, Okunade Adekunle, in Oshodi, Lagos, explained that the leadership of the country and Lagos in particular has consistently worked hard since inception in ensuring that citizens enjoy the dividends of democracy.

He added that Nigerians should continue to support the leadership of the country and Lagos in particular so as to deepen good governance and democracy instead of casting aspersions on the leadership.

He explained that “This is a season of merry and happiness as it was the period when the Lord Jesus Christ was born.

The birth of the Lord Jesus Christ is significant to all Christians all over the world. We should use the season to give back to our society and add value to people around us.”

The lawmaker stated, “All government policies and laws made so far in this year in Lagos by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode and the House of Assembly led by Rt Hon Mudashiru Obasa, were geared towards the betterment of Lagosians.

Also, the President Buhari led APC government at the Federal level has implemented policies and programmes that has positive effect on the economy and on the people even as saboteurs are after destroying his developmental framework.”

He urged Nigerians to peacefully co-exist as a nation with a vision of utilising the diversity tendencies to strengthen the country’s unity, saying that the growth and development of the country should be paramount to all Nigerians regardless of colour, group, religion and tribe.

The statement reads further, “I felicitate with all Christian brothers and sisters across the world as we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.

To me, the birth of Jesus Christ is synonymous with peace, love, care and giving. I will urge Nigerians to continue to show love to one another and have faith in the leadership of this country despite the challenges facing us as a nation.

“The developed countries we see today at a time faced some certain challenges, but both leadership and followership worked hard together to surmount the challenges to get to the stage they are presently,” he added.
