NIPR inducts new members

The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has inducted 161 new members. The induction took place on Thursday, at the Ikeja Business Club, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.
The ceremony was conducted by a Fellow of the NIPR, Mr. Willy Ogbidi, who is also the Chief-of-Staff to the President of body, Dr. Rotimi Oladele, who was unavoidably absent.
The induction drew participants from the 36 states of the federation, and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
They included fresh applicants and others who had been practicing as public relations officers or corporate communicators in their various institutions without appropriate professional certificates of practice.
By the induction they were legally recognised by the NIPR and their employers as public relations practitioners.
Ogbidi cautioned the new members to respect the NIPR Code of Professional Conduct, P.R. Practice, conduct towards the public, the media and other professionals; conduct in relating with employers and clients, colleagues and code interpretation, as they moved into their various fields of practice.
The inductees later took an oath of good conduct.
Dignitaries present at the occasion included the Deputy Registrar of the Institute, Dame Nancy Oghenekaro, the Chairman of Oyo State NIPR, Henry Adegbuyi, Chairman Osun State NIPR, Adewale Oyekomi, and Chairman, Lagos State NIPR, Olusegun Macmedal, as well as all the NIPR Presidential Special Assistants.
