Kwara, FCT remain unbeaten: Etisalat U15 School Cup Wrap

Both teams continued with their impressive form at the Kwara Sports Stadium as 16 goals were scored on Wednesday
Niger 2-0 Plateau
Government Secondary School, Minna secured a winning start with a comprehensive 2-0 victory against Government Day Secondary School, Bokkos at the Kwara Stadium on Wednesday.
Habibu Mustapha’s brace ensured the Minna side overcame fatigue to emerge victorious in the class of the government’s schools.
Mustapha handed his side an early lead, scoring in sixth minute before grabbing his second of the day later in the second half to seal all the three points for the Niger representatives.
Kwara 1-0 Cross Rivers
After an impressive win against Kogi on Tuesday, Socrates Secondary School, Ilorin recorded a hard-fought 1-0 win against Akeem Secondary School on Wednesday.
Saheed Olomigbono’s solitary effort ensured the Kwara side remained unbeaten in the competition after two games.
Despite Akeem Secondary late fight back, Olomigbono’s first half strike from a goal-mouth scramble crashed the hopes of Cross Rivers reaching the Lagos finals with two defeats in a row.
Benue 2-4 Kogi
Mbagwa Community Secondary School failed to consolidate on their opening day victory over Cross Rivers crumbling 4-2 to resurgent Alh-Azhan International College, Lokoja on Wednesday.
Alh-Azhan’s Kokori Abdullahi stole the show as he provided all the goals that ensured the Kogi side redeemed their image after a losing start against Kwara in the Etisalat U15 School Cup.
Abdullahi netted his brace in the opening half despite the Benue side pulling one back through Ula Richards before the break.
The youngster extended his side’s lead to 3-1 in the other half but Williams Miracles equalised with a header to keep Mbagwa in the mix before the Kogi prodigy wrapped up the victory.
Abdullahi’s individual contributions bring back to life Kogi’s dreams of attending the national finals and as well got him the man of the match award.
Nasarawa 0-4 Plateau
After suffering an opening match defeat to Niger Day Secondary School, Bokkos crushed Government College, Keffi to record their first victory in the Etisalat U15 School Cup.
It took the combined brilliance of Paten Muhammed and Victor Yunana for the Plateau side to dismiss their Nasarawa counterparts as both got a brace to restore their side’s crashing dreams.
Muhammed netted the opener in the seventh minute and Yunana made it 2-0 in the 11th minute for Plateau at half time.
The Bokkos boys got their third goal and Yunana’s brace in the 60th minute while Muhammed secured his second of the day in the 79th minute complete the riot.
FCT 3-0 Niger
After massive opening day victory against Nasarawa, Fosla Academy made it two win out of two with a clinical 3-0 win over Government Secondary School, Minna at the Kwara Stadium.
Prosper Ojukwu’s brace plus Emmanuel Yakubu’s strike ensured the Abuja based side retained their hundred percent record with no goal conceded in the Etisalat U15 School Cup.
Wasteful Ojukwu fired Fosla ahead after missing several scoring chances through a buildup in the 26th minute before increasing his side tally in the 70th minute before Yakubu made it 3-0 five minutes later.
