Kwara by-election: 7 political parties adopt APC candidate

Seven political parties on Tuesday adopted the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Raheem Olawuyi aka Ajuloopin as a sole candidate ahead of the Nov.17 by-election in Ekiti/Irepodun/Isin/Oke-ero federal constituency in Kwara State.

The seven political parties includes; the People’s Progressives Party (PPP), National Action Council (NAC), New Progressives Movement (NPM).

Others are: People’s Redemption Party (PRP) National Democratic Liberty Party (NDLP), National Conscience Party (NCP) and United Democratic Party (UDP).

The seven political parties were led by their leaders to adopt the APC candidate.

Leader and member of PPP, Mr Kayode Banji, said that Olawuyi remained trusted and reliable progressives who shared the same ideal with the party.

He said that the party decided to pitch its tent with the APC because of its progressive politics, adding that Olawuyi could be trusted ahead of other contestant.

Banji said that he had no fear that the by-election would be free, fair and credible, while stating that the PDP would deliver for the APC because the party cut across the 16 Local Government of the state.

He said that none of the seven political parties that adopted the APC was induced, adding that the people of Kwara were tired of serving one man without any commensurate result.

Mr Samson Olaitan, a leader of NPM said that that his party decided to adopt the APC candidate because of his past record of progressive politics.

According to him, Olawuyi is a man of honour and integrity with his live to serve humanity; we are of the same like-mind.

He said that his party would work assiduously for the APC candidate to emerge victorious in the coming by-election.

He tasked all progressives to cue behind Olawuiyi, adding that the APC remained the best option in the by-election.

Earlier, Olawuyi commended the seven political parties for the show of love and solidarity with progressives.

“I appreciate this gesture and believe we are all progressives that should work together to chase out our common enemy in Kwara state,” he said.

The APC candidate promised to carry everybody along when he emerged at the poll, stressing that he would keep collaborating with them as co-progressives.

According to him, all of you will be the major beneficiary of this decision you have made when I win on Saturday.

Olawuyi stated that he would embark on an enduring empowerment that would have a multiplier effect and that could be replicated by the beneficiaries and not to give them hand out that will not last.
