Kwara approves distribution of hybrid cocoa seedlings to famers

Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has approved the distribution of hybrid cocoa seedlings to cocoa farmers across the state.

The exercise was part of the administration’s efforts to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the agriculture sector in the state.

Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development Muritala Olarewaju in a statement enjoined the concerned individuals and associations to be in attendance at the flag-off of the exercise slated for Thursday September 10, 2020 at the ministry’s headquarters in Ilorin.

Those expected at the ceremony according to the commissioner include: Cocoa Farmers Association of Nigeria (CFAN), Cocoa Association of Nigeria (CAN), H.O.D Agric of the 8 cocoa-producing LGAs, local governments directors of personnel management and at least 5 farmers and other top government functionaries.
