Keyamo Lands another Appointment from Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has given another appointment to Festus Keyamo, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and human rights activist. Keyamo was in April this year appointed as the Head of Communications and Strategy the President’s 2019 re-election project.

In a letter he wrote the Senate, the President sought the confirmation of Keyamo and six other persons as members of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC).

According to the letter which was read at plenary by Senate President Bukola Saraki, on Tuesday, Buhari requested the confirmation of the following as chairman and members of the NDIC board, Olabode Mustapha, Chairman from Ogun State; Garba Buba , Member from Bauchi State; Bello Garba, Member frm Sokoto State; Joseph Okalogu , Member from Enugu State; Mustapha Mudashiru, Member from Kwara State; Festus Keyamo, Member from Delta and Adewale Adeleke, Member from Ondo State.

“In compliance with section 5 (4) of the Nigerian Deposit Insurance Act 2006, it is my pleasure to forward to distinguished senate the under listed nominees for confirmation as chairman and members of Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Their CVs are attached, ” the president wrote, adding that “It is my hope distinguished senate will consider and confirm the nominees in the usual expeditious manner. Please accept Mr Senate President, the assurances of my highest consideration.”.

The president also wrote another letter to the senate requesting the confirmation of Ateru Garba Madami as the Resident Electoral Commissioner representing Niger State at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Madami is drafted to replace a nominee earlier rejected by the Senate.
