Key into PMB’s anchor borrowed dry season rice farming programme – Alhassan tells Taraba farmers.

The Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Senator Aisha Jummai Alhassan has called on Taraba farmers to support President Muhammadu Buhari’s Anchor Borrowers Dry Season Rice Farming Programme.

Senator Alhassan, who was on assessment visit to the hinterlands across the Country made the call while addressing local farmers in Mutum-Biyu and Gassol Communities of Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba State.
Daily Times gathers that the Minister embarked on assessment visit to the hinterlands

where thousands of hectares of farmlands were secured for allocation to local farmers for Dry Season Rice Farming.
The Women Affairs Minister, who described Mr. President’s Anchor Borrowed Dry Season Rice Farming programme as an initiative to support local Farmers engage in agricultural business and help them become self reliant further explained that over 6,000 farmers who have obtained registration under various Cooperative Societies would be placed under food security and Agricultural production.

Information gathered by our Correspondent revealed that the Women Affairs Minister was also in Bali local government area of the state where she interacted with farmers informing them on the progress made so far as well as various efforts made by the respective Cooperative Societies and the Company where the farmers were enlisted under.

On possible ways of moving through the difficult terrain to the farmlands, the Minister encouraged the farmers to work hard and queue into the Agricultural programme of the Federal Government.
“This is a great opportunity the government has sent to you, it is left for you to work hard and be very serious”,

“I am standing in as a Guarantor for you”, she assured.
It was further ascertained that the farmers are expected to receive their loans to commence work as soon as necessary documents are completed with the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Some of the farmers interviewed by our Correspondent described the Minister’s visit as a demonstration of good gesture and political will.
