Katsina police arrests a notorious cattle rustler
The Police in Katsina state has arrested a notorious cattle rustler, known as Sadiq Usman in the state. In a statement made available to Daily Times in Katsina on Tuesday, the state command PPRO, DSP Gambo Isah said Usman was arrested in Mashi local government area of Katsina state in possession of six cows belonging to one Adamu Umar.
The Police spokesman said the culprit Usman aged 28 years and an indigene of Zamfara state has confessed to the crime and his helping the police with information’s on other related cases.
He stated that, “On 19/07/2017 at about 10:00hrs Katsina state Police Command was able to arrest a notorious cattle rustler one Sadiq Usman ‘m’ aged 28yrs of Magamin Maitarko Mutum Daya Zamfara state”.
DSP Isah added that, the suspect was intercepted with six cows at Gana-Jigawa area of Mashi LGA of Katsina state belonging to one Adamu Umar aged 63yrs ‘m’ of Kankuyawa village Mashi LGA Katsina state.
“The suspects has confessed to the crime and is assisting the police in other related cases. Investigation is still on going,” he said.
The PPRO said officers and men of the command also arrested one Abdullahi Hassan who robbed another, Salisu Lawal of over N2 million.
On 15/07/2017 one Abdullahi Hassan 24yrs ‘m’ of Jibia LGA of Katsina state was arrested in connection with an armed robbery incident in which he and his gang attacked one Salisu Lawal ‘m’ of Tudun Tikari Jibia with dangereous weapons and robbed him of money the sum N2.5m.
During police investigation, the SARS was able to recover the sum of N2, a motorcycle Hoejen with engine No. W4G07476 and one ITEL GSM handset all been the proceeds of the armed robbery money. Suspect confessed to the crime and is assisting the police on other incidents and the arrest of his gang members,” the PPRO stated.
