Kano chamber gets new exco, set to promote commerce

The Kano State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KACCIMA) has elected a new exco to pilot it’s activities under the leadership of Alh. Dalhatu Abubakar, as the new president.

The election, which was conducted along with its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Royal Tropicana Hotel. Kano, was peaceful, and security was tight at the venue.

The out-going president, Umar Dansuleka, while speaking to journalists, stated that in spite of the socio economic challenges caused by the recession to the nation, his tenure had achieved a lot.

He said, “In line with the requisite convention and statutes, the status of the Kano International Trade Fair was raised through quality partnership and participation of major companies and businesses within and outside
the country.

Indeed, the value addition has stimulated and increased business’ turnover of the fair participants, as well as the overall socio-economic position of Kano State.”

President, Yobe State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, Abubakar Jinjiri, who was at the AGM as an observer, described the occasion as well-organized.

He further stated that his visit to Kano has increased his knowledge about the chamber’s activities; adding that he would be going back home with new ideas he learnt from Kano, being the commercial nerve of the region.
