An aspirant for the Kaduna Zone A Senatorial district of Kaduna State and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Kabiru Mohammed Kaura Zaria, has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), in the country of failing to drive the nation’s economy as promised during its electioneering campaign.
The Senatorial aspirant, in a statement made available to journalists, recalled that when the ruling APC government was campaigning few years ago, the economy was one of the issues that occupied the front burner of its campaign then.
He wondered why the APC government has now failed to honour its promises.
Alhaji Mohammed Kaura pointed out that his decision to contest for the seat was sequel to the unending clarion call by his people for quality representation at the National Assembly.
According to him, “My decision to run on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party is anchored on the failure of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to drive Nigeria’s economy.”
Continuing, he said, “the APC senator representing Kaduna Zone A has never sponsored a single bill. The Senator is a bench warmer and the people of my constituency are solidly behind me to run for the senatorial seat come 2019.
“I have all it takes to address the serial under-representation of the people of Kaduna zone A Zaria.
“My profile as refined top public servant and businessman has placed me in a vantage position to offer excellent service to the people,” he said.
Mohammed Kaura noted with sadness that despite the fact the incumbent Senator representing the district is a member of the ruling APC in the country and in the state, “his performance so far is worrisome and condemnable.
The senatorial aspirant, who is a graduate of computer science and management economics, promised to bring about a positive, robust and effective representation to the people of the zone if given the mandate.
