Iyaloja of Ebute Ero tasks Ambode

Iyaloja of Ebute Ero Alhaja Fausat Olowosibi a well known business tycoon and philanthropist has urged the people of Lagos especially those in Ebute Ero to be more hygienic especially as regards cleaning the canal that pass through the market.

According to her, Lagos island local government has been helping in the cleaning years back but no one is helping for now except the little effort the market committee puts in.

The government should help to prevent health hazards.

” I am using this medium to beg the Lagos state governor Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode to stop this action because Ebute ero has its name from the time immemorial, I am a Lagosian to the core and I grew up to know the market name so I don’t see any reason why some people will decide not to go with the name again.

They even stopped participating in the affairs of the market, they don’t comply with environmental activities owing to the fact that some people are backing them. Alhaja who was crowned by mogaji has been crowned as iyaloja since 2004.

“We decided to have special prayers so that the market can move forward that is why we call on pastors and Muslim clerics to pray for unity and progress within the market.

In his own response, Alhaji Abdulganiu Kareem Aare the Babaloja commended governor Ambode for his good works but also pleaded with him to see to the present situation of the market most especially the change of name issue so that it won’t cause tribal war.

According to him Gorodom market is well known all over Nigeria and people are familiar with it so it is very funny to change the name now.
