Bolaji Omosanya, Ibadan

The Eze Ndigbo Naala, Oyo State, Dr. Alex Anozie, has said that the Nigeria Military and other security agencies in any given operation must ensure that they follow due process in carrying out their constitutionally assigned duty.

He gave this remark in an exclusive interview with The Daily Times Correspondent in Ibadan, on his reaction about the Operation Python Dance of Nigerian Army that raided the resident of the leader of the Independent Peoples of Biafra, IPOB, in Abia State.

According to him, security agencies can enter into the house of any suspect in so far as it is done constitutionally and if nothing incriminating is found, the person is free.

However, he said every Nigerian, including Kanu, is entitled to his or her own opinion and that this must not in any way be stifled.

On the strident call for peace, and unity by various groups, individuals and leaders all over the country, Dr. Anozie said things have to be put in their proper prospective.

He said truth, justice, equity, fairness, security and such-like vital matters are the necessary ingredients that can make peace and unity to flourish in the country.

Speaking on the order being sought for the arrest and extradition of the IPOB leader at Federal High Court in Abuja by one Ugechukwu Kenneth who claimed to be from Afara, in Abia State, Dr. Anozie stated that the man is also entitled to air his own view.

Although, he said that, through his experience, he has come to realize that not all the things one read in the newspapers are necessarily true.

Moreover, Anozie averred that some reports may have been a result of total misinformation or misrepresentation by the media to sell their news.
