In Nigeria, the problem is not absence of small scale industries, but the cost of running – Sule

The Governor of Nasarawa State, Governor Abdullahi Sule has lamented that in Nigeria, the problem is not the absence of small scale industries, but the cost of running these facilities especially with the absence of regular power supply.

The governor said this known at the 24th editon of The Platform Nigeria hosted by Pastor Poju Oyemade

He said: ‘For power generation, we have a sub-station in Lafia and we are deploying this substation to boost electricity supply to the state. We are also promoting water supply for irrigation.

‘We are also looking at creating employment and economic activities in agriculture. We just signed an agreement with the Lower Benue Development Authority to take out certain areas of land to be utilized for new farming activities by youths and small scale farmers who will be funded by CBN.

We are promoting both commercial agriculture, but not also forgetting small-scale agriculture.

We are looking at many of the states’ assets that have not been optimally used and ensuring we begin to utilize them.
