Mr. Ibrahim said he was prepared to take the state out of abject poverty by creating employment for the vulnerable youths and women in the society.
He disclosed that his administration would create the Ministry of employment for the purpose of wealth creation and disbanded the Ministry of Special duties.
“We are going to create wealth. I will take you away from poverty, hopelessness, injustice and take you into prosperity and job creation” Mr. Ibrahim said.
The governorship hopeful spoke on Monday at the official flag off campaign rally of the PDP held in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of the state.
Mr. Ibrahim expressed optimism that he and his running mate, Mr. Ebenezer Alabi, would be sworn in as the next governor of the state after the November 2016 election.
He disclosed that his government would pay all backlog of salaries of the civil servants in the state within one hundred days of his administration if elected as the next governor.
“Immediately we come into office within one hundred days all outstanding salaries in the public service would be cleared”.
The business mogul pledged his commitment to invest in the state by ensuring the moribund companies are resuscitated to provide jobs for the unemployed youths.
Ibrahim vowed to restructure the public secondary schools with an assurance that electricity would be restored into areas of darkness in the state.
“Within one hundred days, one hundred secondary schools would go into full boarding house.
“With one hundred days, any house within Ondo state that doesn’t have electricity would have it restored”.
He stated that women and youths are the most vulnerable in the society but noted that they would be given adequate attention in his government.
He maintained that his government would construct durable road network adding that he would also initiate move to industrialize the state.
“We are going to explore Olokola free trade zone” he said.
Mr. Ibrahim further made a vow to accord traditional rulers a place of pride in his government by ensuring they are not neglected.
The PDP National Chairman, Ali Modu Sheriff promised that the leadership of the party would ensure Mr. Ibrahim wins the November governorship election in the state.
Mr. Sheriff said the people should get their Permanent Voters Card (PVC) and ensure they participate in the governorship election by voting en mass Mr. Ibrahim.
He further urged the party members go out and canvass vote for the PDP governorship candidate adding that he was prepared to render his full support.
“We have only one candidate in the PDP of Ondo state and he is Jimoh Ibrahim, so I will urge everybody to vote for him in the November governorship election” Sheriff said.
The PDP National Chairman later presented the Party’s flag to Mr. Jimoh Ibrahim and his running mate, Ebenezer Alabi.
The Daily Times correspondent reported that over two thousand members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Accord Party (AP), and Alliance for Democracy (AD) dumped their parties to join Jimoh Ibrahim in PDP.
