Ikpeazu vs Ogah: Abuja High Court didn’t get it right, says Ohanaeze Ukwa/Ngwa

An all Ngwa socio-cultural organisation, Nzuko Ohanaeze Ukwa/Ngwa has allayed Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu’s fear of removal, stating that the Abuja High Court presided over by Okon Abang did not get the judgment right.

Speaking while addressing Gov. Ikpeazu in Umuahia, the group led by an Ngwa elder and politician, Elder Emmanuel Adaelu and the chairman of the group, Barr. Saint Moses, urged Ikpeazu not to entertain any fears as the people of Ukwa/Ngwa and the entire Abia is solidly behind him.

Speaking further, Adaelu said the people prayed to God and He gave them victory which one man, who did not contest any election, woke up one morning and headed to the court to truncate the victory.

“The multitude of Abians who believe in the Abia Charter of Equity is asking you to be strong. The court did not get it right and we know that the higher courts will vindicate him”, Adaelu said.

Also speaking, a paramount ruler of Ntigha and the Ezeamara of Ezima Ntigha, Eze Joseph Nwabekee urged the gods of the land to remove any person who would want to remove Ikpeazu from the seat, pointing out that this is the first time in history an Ukwa/Ngwa man would be the governor of the state.

He prayed God not to allow that to happen.

In his speech, the chairman of the organisation, Barr. Saint Moses urged the governor not to fear as the governorship position was not given to him free by anybody, but the entire Ukwa/Ngwa people and Abians, assuring him of the support and loyalty of the Ukwa/Ngwa people.

Responding, Governor Okezie IKpeazu described his mandate as divine, stating that as a civil or public servant, he paid his taxes as at when due, pointing out that he has no fear as God is in control.

He wondered why the plans to truncate the turn of Ngwa people to produce the governor, even as provided by the Abia Charter of Equity, pointing out that Ngwa land produced Aba which is today feeding the economy of the state and also offering the people hospitable environment.

He assured that the higher courts would confirm his mandate.
