Ihedioha’s victory: Imo people heeded to my advice – BAWAS

…Congratulates Ikpeazu, Sen. Orji, Hon. Onuigbo,Hon. Orji, Apugo
By Sunday Nwakanma – Umuahia
The entire Imo electorates have been commended for their right choice in the las Saturday governorship election in the state.
This excitement came from the Traditional Prime minister of Ibeku Ancient Kingdom and PDP frontline politician in Abia politics, High Chief James Uche Akwukwuegbu at the heels of the announcement of the victory of the former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha, who was late Monday declared winner of the governorship election in Imo State.
This was even as he expressed his excitement at the victory of Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu, Engr. Enyinnaya Chinedum Orji of Umuahia Central and Chukwudi Apugo of Umuahia East at the Abia State House of Assembly.
Popularly known by his business name, BAWAS, Akwukwuegbu, who recalled his advice to Imo people and his predictions when Ihedioha was in Umuahia, having advised the people off Owerri Zone to ensure that they break the Orlu zone hegemony on governorship position in the state, said “today, Imolites did well by giving Owerri zone the victory”.
He expressed his surprise that “Okorocha is behaving like a lion in the ghetto”, adding that Okorocha’s belief in his in-law was not good, while stating, “today, he has seen the disgrace, even as his popularity has faded.
The disgrace is that all Imo voters voted against him and now his name is not in the list of senators in Imo state to be given Certificate of Return by INEC. It is a disgrace”.
“Imo people have done what I asked them to do”, he concluded.
BAWAS therefore congratulated Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, whom he addressed as his in-law and one Chima Onuoha for their doggedness in ensuring that the victory resides on the side ofn Owerri Zone, adding “I congratulate them”.
The astute politician had early last year also predicted the victory of Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu on the guber polls in Abia, stating “an now, reasonable opponents will not go to court”, as the governor won them with landslide victory.
“It is not easy to win with 1000 votes, not to talk about over 160, 000 votes margin to defat Dr. Uche Ogah”, he said adding that Gov. Ikpeazu has done well to deserve another tenure sin line with Abia Charter of equity and putting into consideration the many litigations he faced at the begging of his first tenure.
“He still did well and managed the resources of the state very well, hence my score of 90% for him”, adding that while people claim he did not fish some projects, “it is better to start some projects and not finish them than not to start any at all”.
According to him, Gov. Ikpeazu has among many others, built quality roads that no subsequent governors in the state will touch many years to come.
He advised Dr. Uche Ogah as a born again Christian and who he addressed as his friend to support Gov. Ikpeazu to give credibility to his belief as a Christian.
High Chief Akwukwuegbu who had earlier last week congratulated Sen. T A Orji of Abia Central over his victory at the senatorial polls, also congratulated Engr. Enyinnaya Chinedum Orji of Umuahia Central and Chukwudi Apugo of Umuahia East at the Abia State House of Assembly over their victory, stating that they did well in their first tenures, adding that to win an election in such a heterogenous entity and difficult terrain as Umuahia central is not an easy one.
BAWAS noted that there is nothing wrong in shifting power to the south east by 2023, stating that after all, the south east gave President Muhammadu Buhari more than the needed 35 votes, adding “he can still make the dream realistic”.
He congratulated the president, stating that the polls were free fair and credible due to his fear that made people to behave well while voting.
Emeka Ihedioha polled 273,404 ahead of his closest rival and candidate of the Action Alliance, Uche Nwosu, who polled a total of 190,364.
