ICAN unveils aviation chapter, pledges financial excellence

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) is set to launch its Aviation Chapter, a specialized platform dedicated to promoting financial excellence, strategic systems integration, and ethical leadership in Nigeria’s aviation sector.
The inaugural event with the theme: “Flightpath to Financial Excellence: Integrating Strategy, Systems, and Standards,” is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at the Victoria Garden Conference & Event Centre in Ikeja, Lagos.
The ICAN Aviation Chapter aims to provide a platform for knowledge sharing, professional development, and advocacy on key financial and economic issues impacting airlines, airports, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders within the Nigerian aviation sector.

The chapter will serve as a hub for knowledge sharing, regulatory dialogue, and capacity building, helping to bridge the gap between aviation operations and sound financial management practices.
As contained in a statement, the chapter’s interim leadership, comprising experienced chartered accountants with extensive backgrounds in aviation finance, airport management, and strategic leadership, will be led by Mr. Ayodele Olatiregun, FCA, who will be invested as the Pioneer Chairman.
The launch event will bring together top stakeholders from the aviation industry, finance professionals, regulatory agencies, and government representatives. The chapter’s program of activities for the coming year will also be outlined at the event.
ICAN says, it is committed to contributing significantly to the sustainable development of Nigeria’s aviation sector by providing a platform for members with specialized knowledge to share best practices, insights, and research findings.
