I’ ll create jobs, empower women if elected -Hon. Akinroye

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Ayedade, Isokan and Irewole Federal Constituency of Osun State, in the forthcoming election, Hon (Dr) Kolapo Akinroye has said that his focus is to empower the youths and women if elected as their representative.
Hon. Akinroye who defeated three other aspirants to pick the PDP ticket said his coming into politics was not for personal gains, but an answer to call by the people of thought and leaders of the party in the constituency.
According to the House of Representatives hopeful, “I was not desperate to contest any election, but was persuade by leaders in my constituency to vie for the elective position in the coming election.”
He said that his people saw the potential in him and were compelled to prevail on him to come home and serve the people, stressing that if elected, his focus would be to empower the youths by way of sending them to skill acquisition centres for those who want to stand on their own and award scholarship to deserving students who cannot afford the school fees.
He explained further that women who are mostly widows and traders would be given grants and assistance to fend for themselves through their business rather than resorting to odd jobs as a means of their survival.
“We have hundreds of women who are begging for assistance and we already have designed programme that will alleviate their sufferings. My mission is a divine calling and already we are working to put food on people’s table ahead of the election,” Akinroye affirmed.
Speaking specifically on his agenda for the people, the House of Representatives flag bearer told The Daily Times that he has what it takes to navigate and lobby for projects that will impact positively on the lives of the people, adding that he would deploy his experience in lobbying to make sure that he delivers to his people the much needed dividends of democracy if elected.
