The bulls resurfaced on the stock market last week, due to investors buying interests in banking stocks, as the market capitalisation gained N1.33trillion week-on- week (w/w) to close at N35.39trillion.
At the close of trading activities on Friday, the benchmark index soar higher on the back of strong buying interests of investors, especially, in banking stocks that fueled the weekly rally.
Thus, the All-Share index advanced by 2,433.66 points or 3.89 per cent week-on-week (W-o-W) to close at 65,003.39 points.
The performance across sectors has predominantly been bullish, with the NGX Banking index and NGX Insurance index fueling the life of bullish party with 15.81 per cent and 5.65 per cent week-on-week gains.
Also, the NGX Industrial Goods index recorded a weekly growth of 2.80 per cent, while NGX Consumer Goods index up by 1.67 per cent and NGX Oil & Gas index appreciated by 0.64 per cent.
The market breadth for the week was positive as 73 equities appreciated in price, 19 equities depreciated in price, while 64 equities remained unchanged. John Holt led the gainers table by 58.01 per cent to close at N2.86, per share. Chellarams followed with a gain of 32.39 per cent to close at N2.33, while Sterling Financail Holdings Company went up by 27.33 per cent to close to N3.96, per share.
On the other side, FTN Cocoa Processors led the decliners table by 29.08 per cent to close at N2.00, per share. Courteville Business Solutions followed with a loss of 28.09 per cent to close at 64 kobo, while Abbey Mortgage Bank declined by 26.32 per cent to close at N1.12, per share.
Overall, a total turnover of 4.182 billion shares worth N99.048 billion in 41,446 deals was traded last week by investors on the floor of the Exchange, in contrast to a total of 5.246 billion shares valued at N63.417 billion that exchanged hands prior week in 57,234 deals.

The Financial Services Industry (measured by volume) led the activity chart with 3.015 billion shares valued at N36.762 billion traded in 20,079 deals; contributing 72.08 per cent and 37.12 per cent to the total equity turnover volume and value respectively.
The Oil and Gas Industry followed with 311.172 million shares worth N2.128 billion in 3,473 deals, while the Conglomerates Industry traded a turnover of 180.518 million shares worth N787.392 million in 2,111 deals.
