Hockey: UBN’s Odedokun applauds Ghana, Malaysia trips

Union Bank of Nigeria (UBN) Men’s Hockey team returned from Accra, Ghana, on Monday after playing two friendly games and Coach Tunde Odedokun has described both as big build up games to the National Hockey Super League coming up in Abuja in July this year.

The Union Bank Hockey Team beat Real Ambassadors 5 nil on Saturday but lost 3-1 to All Stars in Accra, Ghana on Sunday and Odedokun said they have learnt lot from both games.
According to him they now know their strengths and weaknesses better.
“Union Bank Hockey team wants to be national champions again hence we appreciate all these exposures.

“We were runners-up to Niger Flickers at the last Super League and recent games in Port Harcourt (5-A-Side Tournament) and Ghana (friendlies) have given us a fresh confidence.

“We are very grateful to the Union Bank management. Apparently our team will become stronger by the grace of God,” declared Odedokun who departed the country for Malaysia Tuesday night to attend International Hockey coaching course.

The course holds in Kuala-Lumpur, Malaysia between April 27th – May 1st, 2017.
Meanwhile, over 200 participants have been registered for the 2017 Lagos Laser Run event that would hold between April 29 and May 6, 2017. It is to be organized by the Nigeria Model Pentathlon Federation.

Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), Peter Okoro confirmed that the International Body have supplied them with latest laser pistols and other materials to make the running and shooting event a very successful one.
