Hermes Mansour Shares His Success Mantra: Work Smart, Not Hard
Hermes Mansour is an excellent person to turn to for advice about success. At age 35, he already has an acting career, as well as a successful supercar rental company in Dubai that is about to expand into super-yachts and super-skis. He shares his success mantra to help others achieve their own goals.
For Hermes, hard work is important, but working smart is even more important. You need to put in the effort constantly, but you should not waste your energy. Part of this is learning how to recognize opportunities and when it is time to change paths.
Hermes’ early career in demolitions is a perfect example of this. Hermes Mansour describes it as “a natural progression for me.” He was young and motivated by money and saw an opportunity. However, he was also smart about that career.
Hermes says it “ultimately was a means to an end, a leg up to pursue my true passions.” By working smart in demolitions, he gave himself a head-start in his chosen careers, acting and entrepreneurship.
Another example in his life of working smart, not hard, comes from his decision to take the next step with the supercar rentals. Hermes says that after “the success we enjoyed, luxury watercraft was an obvious next step.” He explains, “The money is there from the tourism industry, and it allows me to craft a lifestyle of fun and excitement around serious business and stability.”
In this case, Hermes Mansour and his brother are working smart by building on their already successful business instead of starting from scratch. They plan to continue doing so in the future. Their next expansion will be into super-yachts and super-skis. These will be available for rentals, charters, events, and experiences.
While working smart is important, success does also require hard work. Hermes says that “success is perpetual.” He describes it as something you have to keep working toward. He explains, “The work is never done, and success is a daily practice in pursuit of itself.”
Hermes Mansour has always worked both hard and smart. His work toward his other career, acting, began at a young age. He describes, “As a young man, I loved to make short films with my friends.” This helped him gain early experience in acting, which he was able to put toward his current acting career.
For those aspiring to become entrepreneurs, Hermes offers more advice than just working smart, not hard. He also encourages them to “Believe in taking risks and believe whatever you want is possible.”
